Sitting at Work

Sitting at work (summer solstice 2011)

Sitting at work, always under the gun
Looking out the window and seeing the sun
Tomorrow's the solstice, I'm reminded today
So tomorrows the worst and the best, so they say.

I'm just getting used to a bit of warm weather,
For walks in the woods and jumps in the heather.
But I look out the window and my eye's all a-squinter
Realizing that now we're just heading for Winter.

Sitting at work, always under the gun
The weary gray sky really isn't much fun
Tomorrow's the solstice, I'm reminded today
So tomorrows the best and the worst, so they say.

I'm just getting used to the snow and the cold
In going outside we need to be bold
So I try to think: "This isn't a bummer"
Cause really, right now, we are headed for summer.
